January should Jumpstart your Budget January 27, 2009

2009 is already almost a twelvth over!  January has flown by pretty fast.  How has your month been?  Are you over your budget?  Do you not know?  Do you even have a budget?

I can’t stress enough the importance of having a budget.  If you don’t believe me, go ahead and try it out for yourself.  I would have you compare months between having a budget and not having a budget, but on the latter, you wouldn’t know how much you spent!  It is crucial to know how much money is coming in and how much money is going out.  Otherwise, you will wake up one day and find there isn’t much coming in, and way too much going out.

If you don’t know how to set up a budget, do some research and find out.  You should go to THIS PAGE from About.com and read all about how to create a budget.  It is a very good article and will more than definitely help you with your finances.  Just trust me on this one.

A budget can be a little tricky or time consuming, but as you work on it more and more, you will get very good at it.  It will become part of your weekly or daily routines.  The more you work on your budget, the more money you will save, and ultimately have to spend on what you need.  You and your family will be happier and one day, you can take them all to Disneyland – stressfree.

I really agree that the first of the year is a great time to “jump start” your budget. There is a feeling of the ability to do better at the things that we have struggled with in the past year. Thanks so much for your inspiration and encouragement to start a budget!
